AMENDMENT TO 2010 BBYRA SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:  Please insert  at the end of CR 4.2
W(1) - Inflatable weather mark, compass bearing will be posted on the race committee boat.

W(2) – Inflatable weather mark same compass bearing as W(1) but at a greater distance than “W(1)”.

Please insert at the end of CR2.   Active members of BBYRA may ELECT TO join PHRF4 fleet by application to and approval of the BBYRA Board.  Characteristics governing selection to this fleet may include but are not limited to:   a. Boat must be “wet” sailed.   b. Boat must have inboard power.      c. Boat must have installed, functioning marine head.      d. Boat must have overlapping head sails.     e. Boat must have mast mounted spinnaker pole with symmetric spinnaker.

CRYC invites you to join us Saturday- October 23, 2010 from 0900 hours – 1300 hours for an introduction of race committee. This will be an overview of all the positions required to run a successful regatta. Our goal is to encourage folks to join race committee and to encourage experienced race committee folks to cross train to other positions. This activity is being coordinated by Sharon Bourke and Jill Smoak. Please email one of us of your intent to participate. The 77th Anniversary Nassau Cup Ocean Race (Miami to Nassau) was rescheduled from last February to November 11th, 2010.  It is now one of the events managed by SORC.

Wednesday Night Racing Starts Wednesday, April 28   At Shake A Leg Miami

Shake A Leg Miami will start Wednesday Night Racing on April 28, with the first warning at 6:30 PM (1830 for you Navy guys!) and go the next 8 Wednesdays  (May 5, 12, 19,  & 26, June 2, 9, 16 & 23. We will take a break until July 21 & 28, August 4, 11, 18 & 25, September 1, 8, & 15. Three races are planned each Wednesday and the racing area will be in the area of Quick Flash.    This will give us two series of nine race days each, with a break for the fourth of July. (If we feel so inclined, we could have a one day event on the fourth (Sunday). Let us know what you think about this idea.   The charge will be $15. per person on the Freedoms and $40 for one series or $70 for both series for non SALM boats.  Scoring in the Freedoms would be based on the individual sailors, with a 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3 2, 1 that each sailor gets based on the scores of the boat he is on for the evening. We will have it in a spreadsheet that will be posted on the website.  Other classes would be scored by boat.  If you have questions call Jenny at 305 858-5550.

The Villagers', a local historic preservation organization, is looking for a wooden dinghy to complete a restoration project at the Lighthouse in Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.    This 9 to 11 foot shallow draft vessel - such as a Bahamian Dinghy - will be on permanent display outside the lighthouse keeper's cottage.    Please contact Eileen Hoffman 305-665-0221 or eileenhoffman98@bellsouth.net or Park Manager Robert.Yero@dep.state.fl.us   if you have any information about a wooden dinghy for purchase or donation.

If you want to be posted on our crew list please remember to update it periodically or it will be deleted after 6 months.  We want to provide our skippers with the most current and useful information as possible.  You are welcomed to fill out a crew application located on our Go Sailing page.
